About Protein Spotlight

More About Us

Protein Spotlight was founded in the year 2000. The idea was to write about a specific protein - or more rarely a family of proteins - on a rather informal tone by delving a little into the history of science or raking up tasty anecdotes. Despite the description of hard facts, such as a protein's function or the interest it may arouse in the world of biotechnology, the reading was to be pleasant and relatively undemanding, and aimed at the Scientific Community. Hence, unlike 'Protéines à la Une', our French speaking review, Protein Spotlight is no peaceful read for the layman who has little knowledge of biology. Indeed, it is really addressed to those who have quite a sound understanding of the field already, or are so inclined.
